Ms Sharon Ho
Sharon Ho is currently a PhD candidate with the Computing department of the Information and Communication Sciences division at Macquarie University. She received a Master of Information Technology from Macquarie University in 2004. Her research experience spans different areas on internet safety and security, including pornography filtering, steganography and identity security.Her PhD research centres on the development of a new methodology and metric to provide a more statistically robust platform for face recognition / biometrics evaluation.Before doing University Research she worked in the information technology industry for nine years, as a programmer, systems analyst and systems manager. I joined the Information Technology Services Department of the Hong Kong Government in 1986, and had since then maintained and developed various taxation systems for the Inland Revenue (Taxation) Department till 1995. In years 1993 to 95,she took up the systems manager position, leading a team of more than 25 programmers and systems analysts in the development of the Composite Tax Return System.
